Talisker Distillery


The Talisker Distillery is located in Carbost on the Isle of Skye in. It is one of the oldest and most renowned whisky distilleries in the country.

The distillery is situated in Carbost, a small village on the west coast of the Isle of Skye. The distillery was founded in 1830 by Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill. It has been producing whisky for over 190 years and has a rich heritage. Talisker whisky is known for its distinctive smoky and maritime character, influenced by the rugged coastal environment of Skye.

The distillery offers tours and tastings for visitors who want to learn more about the whisky-making process and experience the flavors of Talisker whiskies. During the tour, visitors can explore the distillery, see the stills, and learn about the history and craftsmanship behind Talisker whisky.

The distillery has recently been restored boasting a fabulous new visitor centre experience. In addition, Three Chimneys has recently established a additional lunch venue at the distillery, Three Chimneys at Talisker. 

The distillery is approximatley 23 miles from the Three Chimneys could be combined with a visit to Fairy Pools. It can be reached by road and there is ample parking available for visitors.
