Skye food and whisky icons announce pop-up dining experience for spring 2024
Two of Skye’s most iconic and enduring food and whisky brands have joined forces to launch a new pop-up dining experience on the Misty Isle this spring.
The Three Chimneys and Talisker Distillery are coming together for the first time to create ‘The Three Chimneys at Talisker’ experience, celebrating our shared passion and philosophy around local provenance and sustainability, as well as a commitment to the environment and local communities.
Whisky and food lovers are being enticed to this unique corner of Skye where the land meets the sea, to immerse themselves in real authenticity, the magic of the island’s natural larder and the world-famous single malt.
For over a century and a half, Talisker has stood as a symbol of Skye, a whisky inherently shaped by the sea and landscape that surrounds it.
Now, an exclusive new pop-up dining experience at Talisker Distillery will showcase The Three Chimneys’ shared commitment to local growers, crofters, producers and craftspeople on Skye.
A standalone waterfront venue opposite the Talisker visitor centre will be home to the pop-up restaurant for lunch only, from February to April.
This culinary experience invites visitors to immerse themselves in exceptional offerings. ‘The Journey’ – a tasting menu inspired by Uisge Beatha (Water of Life). Guests can also savour lighter, seasonally influenced fare that showcases the abundant richness of Skye's larder, further enhancing the experience of the already acclaimed distillery tours.
The original concept for ‘The Three Chimneys at Talisker’ was developed by The Three Chimneys’ head chef, Scott Davies, and general manager, Krzysztof Dudkowski, who will be leading the project.
Over the winter months, Chef Scott Davies was putting the finishing touches to his carefully crafted tasting menu which has now been unveiled. Online bookings for ‘The Three Chimneys at Talisker’ are open to guests from across the UK and beyond.
Inspiration for the new menus was taken from Talisker Distillery’s unique location on the Minginish peninsula and an air that is filled with the salt and spray of the sea. Dishes will complement the maritime character of Talisker with its notes of smoke, spice, peat, salt and pepper.
Recognised as one of the Six Classic Malts of Scotland, Talisker’s reputation has been built over time and forged entirely on its remarkable flavour.
The Three Chimneys Restaurant and The House Over-By has a rich history stemming from humble beginnings which date back to 1968. The restaurant has six guest rooms and is nestled on the shores of Loch Dunvegan with the dramatic backdrop of the Duirinish peninsula of Skye. The landscapes and seascapes of Skye encapsulate the seasons on this mystical isle, which is brimming with historic castles, lighthouses, beaches, fishing ports and distilleries.
Our five-star AA restaurant also has retained three AA Rosettes for over 2 decades and is included in the Michelin Guide for Great Britain and Ireland 2023 and the Good Food Guide.
